London West End - walking tour - FREE!!

Overview:

This fun and informative walking tour has been designed around the development of London’s West End.

It focusses on the incredible achievements of one man – John Nash.

During our walk, you will see many sights and buildings that you are already familiar with.  This tour will put them into context and it will give you a new appreciation for the work of John Nash.

You will learn all about the political climate of the day, the desire for the Georgians in London to strive for better things and how that actually happened.

Along the way, we will see a great many buildings and locations – Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus, Regents Street and much more.

We start the day outside the British Museum and we end up in Regents Park.   A visit to a pub is very likely too  🙂

Add a guest for half price and make a day of it.   Perhaps book yourself a nice meal and a theatre show in the evening!

Format:

We will be walking around London for the whole day.   You’ll need to consider your own mobility and fitness levels for this activity.  There are some slopes and steps, and many roads to cross.

This is a great day out and would be suitable for anyone interested in John Nash, the development of the West of London and late Georgian society generally.

Additional information:

You will make your own way to the start, which will be outside the British Museum on Great Russell Street in Bloomsbury.   From there, we will walk to Tottenham Court Road tube for a short ride on the Northern Line, leaving at Charing Cross Station.

Lunch and drinks.   There will be multiple opportunities for you to get food and drinks during the day (at your own expense).  I would suggest that you bring a bottle of water with you too.
