ON DEMAND CPD Mortars & Renders - what to look for when doing a survey

Overview:

There is a common misconception that mortar and render is either cement or lime.  This is an over-simplified understanding.  It is a far more variable topic and this CPD takes a good look at the variety of options and how mixes have varied over time.   This is important to know and understand as it will impact the decisions that determine repair options and the significance of any defects.

In this session, we will cover:

• The basic differences between cement and lime
• Commonly seen defects
• Decision making skills based on risk and significance
• Leisgang rings – what they are, where to look and why they occur

Suitability

This training is suitable for everyone, regardless of background or experience.   No prior knowledge or qualifications is required.  It is taught in English, so you must have a good use of the English language.

The training is intended to be of most value to RICS surveyors but it will also be useful to surveyors who are members of other professional groups, students, post-grad students, apprentices and those who might be seeking a career change later in life.

This CPD training will be delivered online. This training qualifies for 1 hour formal CPD.
